Good Spirits Farm

Good Spirits Farm was both an addition and renovation to an existing farmhouse that was once used as a hospital during the Civil War. With its renovated space and pool house addition, this home enjoys mountainside views in scenic Western Maryland. The wine cellar in the renovated basement provides cold storage for 1,000 bottles of wine in custom chilled cabinets, and storage for 1,000 more in the cabinets below.

Bulls and Bears Restaurant

In addition to office space, the renovation of the Tristate Building in downtown Hagerstown houses the Bulls and Bears Restaurant.  The renovation included the restoration of the historic front of the building and exposed the original stone foundation wall and wood framing in the restaurant space.  To make space for the “Bull Pen” in the basement of the restaurant, the existing stone foundation walls were underpinned and the floor was excavated through two feet of solid rock.

Intelsat Antenna Support Facility

Intelsat’s expansion of their Mountainside Teleport required a third generator and additional electrical service to meet their growing demand.  Their existing facility was designed with this planned expansion in mind; but when the third generator was implemented, acoustical consideration for the adjacent offices and conference rooms was a primary concern.  A 1.5 megawatt generator, new electrical switch gear, and an additional 20,000 gallon fuel tank were installed to provide the appropriate backup capacity of Intelsat’s increased demand.  Exterior sound baffles and an acoustical wall provide a sound buffer from adjacent spaces.

An additional support structure was required by the relocation of several antennae from another teleport.  The antenna support facility will command 5 full motion arrays.
